Shaving foam on a tray, and permission to make a mess.

How to play

Spray a pile onto the tray and let him spread it flat. Draw lines and shapes in it with a finger. Hide a small toy underneath and let him dig it out.

What you need

A can of shaving foam and a tray (or do it in the empty bath).

Drawing with a finger in foam is the step before drawing with a pencil — same movement, no grip to worry about, and it wipes away so mistakes don't count.

Safety first
Not for a child who still mouths things. Do it in the bath and cleanup is one shower.
